Age 16+; floor skills; swim 25m or demonstrate the specified water-competence alternative; surface dive and recover an adult manikin from deepest part.
Training:
16 contact hours, or 17 with the optional unit; normally two days.
About this Qualification
For designated staff responding to incidents under suitable pool operating arrangements. This qualification does not qualify the holder for constant pool lifeguard supervision.
Course Content
Shallow-water rescue; incident management; basic life support; adult and paediatric emergency first aid.
Assessment
Tutor practical demonstrations and an end-of-course multiple-choice theory paper.

Suggested joining instructions: swimwear, towel, suitable clothing for water-based practice, notebook and pen. Confirm venue-specific equipment before attendance.
